The Optometrists and Opticians Board (the “Board”) has updated its Supervisory Framework Guidelines for new provisionally registered optometrists and opticians (“supervisees”) whose registration takes effect from
1 October 2022.
2 In summary, there is a change on the submission frequency of the assessment reports (also known as “supervisor’s reports”) for new supervisees whose registration starts from 1 October 2022:

All work settings

Every Three (3) Months, or whenever there is a change of employment and/ or supervisor by supervisee. |
Every Six (6) Months, or whenever there is a change of employment by supervisee and/ upon request by the Board. |
Exceptional workplace settings where the appointment of secondary supervisor is required by the Board |
Every One (1) Month, or whenever there is a change of employment and/ or supervisor by supervisee. |
Every Three (3) Months, or whenever there is a change of employment by supervisee and/ upon request by the Board. |
3 Current supervisees whose registration started before 1 October 2022 are not affected by the change.
